The tonic range. In Chinese medicine bu qi — supplementing qi — is one of the oldest categories of all, and this collection covers it from every angle: six-year Korean red ginseng root, cordyceps preparations, Essence of Chicken, Tongrentang’s shengmaiyin oral liquid, jiaogulan teabags, and the concentrated Black Pearl formulas built on the classical qi tonics.
Traditional use
Tonic herbs are traditionally taken as a course over weeks rather than as a one-off, and the tradition is specific about timing — several of these are considered unsuitable during an acute cold, which is why they sit in a separate range from our cough and cold remedies.
Ginseng in particular varies enormously by grade and age. We are happy to explain what separates the grades we carry, in store or by email.
