Kidney & Liver (肾脏肝脏)

One of the largest ranges in the shop, because in Chinese medicine the Kidney and Liver systems underpin a great deal else — bones, hearing, the eyes, reproductive health and the ageing process. Nineteen Black Pearl concentrated formulas sit here, along with Liu Wei Di Huang Wan and its many variants, Tongrentang preparations, and the individual tonic herbs: du zhong, gu sui bu, shu di huang, gou qi zi.

Traditional use

The rehmannia family of formulas is the place most people start, and it is worth knowing that they are not interchangeable: Liu Wei, Qi Ju, Ming Mu, Zhi Bai and Jin Gui Shen Qi all share a base and differ in what is added. If you have been given one name and can only find another, ask us before substituting.
